about
these are demos and little sketches i've made during 2011. a few of the songs are fairly close to complete, others... not so much.

if i get enough encouragement from people i might turn this stuff into an album. i mean, i keep saying that i'm going to... you know... release an album. but i also keep finding reasons to procrastinate it. so yeah, if you know me, feel free to bug me about it. it could actually make a difference. the only reason i made my previous EP (kindling) was because my friend kim wheatley kept bugging me to finish/release those songs.

the main problem is that i get scared it's not going to be good enough, so i just make demos and then don't try to take them any further. it's weird... i think that a lot of people probably suffer from this problem though. okay, i'm going to stop ranting now, cause this is probably totally the wrong place to be doing this. like... this is more the sort of conversation that you would have in private with one of your friends. it's just not the sort of thing that you would put in a bandcamp album description.

especially not at 3:13 AM on christmas day...

ALSO: all the normal disclaimers apply to these demos. you know, the sort of things i might say to one of my friends before showing them these songs. usually i say something like, "don't judge it too harshly because i made it really quickly" (even though this is probably a lie), and/or "i haven't sorted the vocals out yet. at the moment they are pretty much just stream-of-conscious gibberish", or "i made this a long time ago... the stuff i make now is a lot better, but i wanted to show this to you anyway". these are the sort of things i might say to a friend before showing them one of these songs. in some cases i may be deceiving my friend to impress her or him. these are the sort of things humans do i think.

Track Name: Exodus I (demo)
let's leave this dying world behind
sail through those starry lights and see what we can find

there are no good reasons for sticking around
so let's get a move on, let's get off the ground

there might be a planet with green plants to ease our mind
a place where we can start again, we'll do it better this time

we tried our best at saving all the life that was remaining
but the outcome was... =/
and now that everything is dying
i think it's best that we stick to flying
let's pack up and go

let's leave this dying world behind
sail through those starry lights and see what we can find
there might be a planet with green plants to ease our mind
a place where we can start again, we'll do it better this time
